Hotel Restaurant Russweiher in Eschenbach in der Oberpfalz

We sat next to two regulars - obviously because the owner of the place and his wife sat at their table for a long time and talked - and although we had ordered ten minutes before these, only my wife got her meal beforehand. I had to wait another ten minutes for my steak, the same dish that was served at the other table when my wife was eating. That was not nice. And that doesn't go against the two service staff, who were more than nice and on their toes. My steak was also very small. Since the service was very nice and my wife thought that the food was very good, only one star deduction, despite the prices and the preference of the regular guests.

The schnitzel was a bit greasy, otherwise the food was tasty and quickly ready. Nice ambience and extremely friendly service.

This is the restaurant and pension on the upper campsite, there are several. With us there is unfortunately also a restaurant without tenants at the moment.

A place with an overnight stay. A bit hidden and a bit inconspicuous but with a very good kitchen. At least that was my first impression. I only ordered a bite, salad and risotto, but these dishes were really really good. I also found the staff pleasant and professional. I will definitely come back and try other foods too.

This is a fantastic place. The food is great! The service is fantastic. Listen I know about 15 min of German and these folks didn’t care. Real hospitality. Go here and get a good meal.

Not bad, but with some drawbacks We were there last night for the Christmas party. When I entered the restaurant, an older man called out to me that I should finally come in. Somewhat puzzled, I was shown the way into the next room. That turned out to be the hotel's breakfast room. When I went into the room to see if I was right, I was immediately asked by the well-known older man to hang my jacket on the cloakroom. Quote: “14 days ago, a guest hung his jacket over the chair and the waitress fell over it and was sick. The guest had to pay for the fall and the failure! ”. The wait staff may have stumbled, but it is the sound that makes the music. The service in the evening was present, but went really bored and chewing gum. As an apparatus there was a choice of mulled apple wine (alcohol-free) and a champagne punch that was not my taste at all. My soup was a pumpkin cream soup with seed oil cream and roasted seeds. Looks good and tasty, but only lukewarm. I don't understand why there is no support from the kitchen to quickly bring the food to the guests. For the main course, beef fillet was served medium-fried with baked potatoes and herb butter and a mixed salad. The salad was good and the steak a touch before "well done". For that, my neighbor got his steak almost “medium rare”. The guests who had chosen the pikeperch got different cutlery, I had to ask for a sharp knife. Dessert consisted of a white chocolate and cinnamon parfait with berry ragout. Not bad in and of itself, but I'm absolutely not sure why cherries were incorporated into the berry ragout. They just didn't fit. Conclusion: it would have been more comfortable in the guest room. The breakfast room somehow lacks charm. The two boards looked kind of out of place. The food was OK. If the soup had been hot, the cherries left out, and the condition threw away the gum, I'd go one star higher.

More then an hour waiting for my meal, comes the waitres and wants to take my fork and knife back to the kitchen even before I got my dinner. Horrible experience today, though last thursday the lunch with the team was good. Today however the meal, though I ordered the same, wasn't quite the same.

Great all around. Great service, great atmosphere inside and out, really great food.
